I'm keeping my fingers and tones crossed that your proposals sell and sell well. You definitely deserve another contract. *We* definitely deserve for you to get another contract. LOL!

Please, please, please keep us posted.

LOL Being a writer is a lot like being an elected official---you wonder if you did a good enough job that you'll get re-elected.

Karen I hope your stories get picked up. I agree with Deb. From working at the bookstore 15.00 is hard for some to come up with.

I have to admit, I'm always a little nervouse between contracts :) The economy could be great and I'd still sweat bullets. Romance is still selling well, though so there is hope :)

Lisa---I hope you enjoy the book!

Karen, sending prayers that you get another contract for your books. I know they certainly make me smile and I love introducing your work to others.

LuAnn is correct. The economy is making everybody suffer. Not only do fabulous authors not get their work picked up again but we, the readers, are really hurting. Hurting for the authors that don't have the contracts and hurting for ourselves because we don't get the wonderful books from our favorite authors.

With the romance genre selling a majority of the books out there, it would seem they could come up with a reasonable solution, like putting the trade size books in mass market size so more can afford it. As a former bookseller and now working in the library, I know that more books would be sold if they were a more reasonable price.

I do splurge for my favorite authors on trade size, but I have to be very selective on what and when I buy. As much as I'd love a cart full of books on release date, I just can't afford it.

Praying that things pick up for everybody!
