Ooops…late with my blog…

December 19, 2005 by shilohwalker

I was supposed to blog on Saturday, but I took the weekend off. I didn’t mean to take it off from blogging. I really didn’t, but not going to the computer had that effect. I feel really silly now, but hope you all will forgive me and if my message gets bumped by another blogger…well that’s okay too. ๐Ÿ™‚

We had an awewome weekened anyway…wish you all could have been at some of the parties we went to. Friday night, my sister hosted a caroling party and a few dozen of us tramped her neighborhood serenading her neighbors with Christmas carols. Saturday was the annual family reunion on my dad’s side…four generations of family show up to share our joy in Christmas together. We ate, we sang and little ones opened gifts. The family has been meeting every Saturday before Christmas for over 50 years and I’ve been going since my birth 37 years ago. It’s an awesome heritage for my children. Yesterday we spent Christmas shopping and then having dinner with my mom (it’s a weekly event for us as she’s been ill for quite some time) and that was lovely, even though it meant driving both ways on sheets of ice.

Today, I’m catching up on email and then I’m going to supervise Christmas cards and gift wrapping. I say supervise because the teens do most of the work to save my wrist joints. ๐Ÿ™‚

What are your last minute Christmas preparations?

Hugs to all,
Lucy

I have one more present to purchase. I have to go to the post office to get a couple of boxes so I can finish wrapping. I forgot to get them when I was there earlier. I hate the post office too!

I have it all done, except for to pick up some last minute groceries. I plan on taking my Dad (83) to the store tomorrow so we can get the few things they need and I can finish up what I need. If all goes well, I will not have to go near a store or anything until next week.

Keeping fingers crossed that this works out for me.

I still have to wrap one friends gift who actually works for my husband. But other than that one and my kids gifts, I’m all done. It’s a great feeling to finally relax and think about the true meaning of Christmas and remember all the things we have to be thankful for.

It’s great that you gather on the same day each year, that way nobody will miss by accidently planning something else on that day.

    Merry Christmas!

I am just about done. I braved the elements (and crazy drivers) to get a grab bag gift – wow, it was insane! – but I survived the ordeal and escaped unscathed. Now is the time to just enjoy the holiday and be with friends and family. Cards are done, no wrapping needed – life is good. Now if it would only warm up a little it would be perfect. Happy holidays ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t have any last minute preparations. I am all done – woohoo.

I swore I would get it done early this year and I did it.

I mailed off my last gift I needed to mail yesterday. Now to wrap the ones at home. I just want to be able to do nothing for days on end. LOL

Lucy, you have some fabulous family traditions.

I have to pick up a couple of gift cards & finish up my wrapping and then hit the grocery store.

Lucy, what great traditions! Christmas is such a wonderful time to spend with family.

I still have a lot of things to do: some shopping, all the wrrapping, etc. Fortunatelly I don’t have to cook. I’m so behind this year, that next year I will start really early.

    Happy Holidays to all!

    Julia

I had all my Christmas shopping done in October – woohoo. I was not waiting until the last minute to do it this year.
