This N’ That…

June 16, 2008 by janicemaynard

I promised some pics of Lori and Dianne’s get-together… so here they are!  I never take as many as I should… and this year since we were signing the Power of Love, things were a bit crazy.

The weekend was a blast.  I hope all of you will get a chance to come sooner or later.  It’s the official kick-off of summer, in my opinion.  🙂  It’s always fun to catch up with old friends and to meet new ones.

I’m giving away a fun box of items to one lucky poster today.  I got a bunch of stuff at RT and some more things at the get-together.  I was flying home from Pittsburgh, so LuAnn took a box of goodies to Kentucky and then brought it to me in Cincinnati.  That’s why I’m just now geting around to sharing the wealth.

I’ve spent a lot of time on the road lately.. but this week I am actually sitting down to write the first pages of a new book.  That’s always a scary but exciting time.  The book is still “out there” just waiting to be discovered.  Pretty heady stuff…

I’m not going to San Francisco.  That’s a bit sad, but a body can only do so much.

I should have a new video trailer up on my webiste in the next couple of days.  I’ll post a message on the loop when it’s ready. Hope you like it!

Well, this has been kind of rambling, but it’s almost midnight, so that’s my excuse.  I’ll draw a name for a winner on Tuesday around 2PM and announce it here.

So stop by and say hello and maybe share any fun summer plans you have on the calendar.

Hugs,

Janice

That looks like such a fun time. Some day I’d like to go to an event like that.

This summer I plan to stick close to home and go to some local festivals.

Janice, good luck on the new book. It was great seeing old friends especially the scamps! I hope more of you guys can make it next year.

Yeah, no San-Fran for me either… I am however heading to the beach on Friday! I can’t wait to sink my toes in the sand!

    Hi Janice!!
Great pictures! I want to hear more about this “new book”!! LOL

I have lots planned for this summer**lets hope all goes as “planned” hehe

To start is our big trip to North Carolina. First time to the state but our best friends now live there so off we go! Lots of fun stuff to do! We are flying with our little dog because she has a hard time without me and 2 weeks in a kennel was going to be torture. I just hope the plane ride goes ok! 2 kids, 1 dog and a husband***I am really nervous!
Then we have a 3 camping trips in the works and ending the summer with my in-laws visiting for almost 2 works. Again nervous!! I have been married for almost 10 years and this will be their first time staying with us. Come to think of it this will be the first time in my home. They have never been to any place we have ever lived!! OK even more nervous!!! Anyway I hope things go “as planned”!! But who am I kidding**I am a mom and nothing goes “as planned”!! LOL

Well I think I rambled enough!! Thanks for the great blog!!
    Hugs
    Tara

I had a blast and it was so good to see you again (and the authors too). It nice to finally get to put some names and faces together too.

Can’t wait to hear more about this new book and I’m sure it will be discovered!!

Great pictures, but they make me sad that I wasn’t there. I had to cancel at the last minute and I think a piece of my heart broke with that decision. I had such a fun time last year and was looking forward to another great year, but alas it was not to be. I WILL BE THERE NEXT YEAR!!! I have to keep telling myself that, or else depression will set in. LOL

  15. on June 16, 2008 at 5:21 pm Tee

Janice it was wonderful to see you. I wish there was more time to chat though. Seem time just flew by. We did not get to sit and talk in the lobby like last year. That was such fun and my friend Carol really says you make her laugh.

For those of you who were not able to attend, try next year. You have no clue how awesom it is to meet such wonderful and giving people.

    Janice,

I would love to enter to get some of your goodies. I review for NORR and love it. It sounds like your new book is one I will have to look into, it sounds interesting. Nice pics, I couldn’t come but maybe some time I will get the chance. Hope all is well with you. Have a great day!

Fantastic pics. Looks like a great event. We plan to stay close to home this summer. Do some fishing and closer to home site seeing.

Janice it was great seeing you again! Can’t wait until next time. I just wish we had more time to talk sunday morning just went way to fast.

I am so pouting. I couldn’t go this year and missed seeing all of you but I guess I needed to go to my older son’s high school graduation darn it. but next year I’ll be there with bells on. I see some familiar names on this blog. Hi tee and Deb and others I missed.

  20. on June 16, 2008 at 8:09 pm Lori T

It looks like so much fun. I really hope to one day be able to make it to the event…it would so amazing to meet such great authors and the people who I chat with daily.

Good luck on the new book! I am sure that it will be great!

We really don’t have any big summer plans this year. We will just hang around home, possibly a trip to Iowa in August…an awesome time to be there with the heat and humidity.

    Great pictures of the event.

  21. on June 16, 2008 at 8:51 pm Cheryl C

It was great seeing you again this year. Maybe next year we will have more time to visit.

  22. on June 16, 2008 at 9:22 pm Jane

Looks like everyone had a fabulous time. I don’t have any summer plans yet, but I’m hoping we might be able to visit friends in Hawaii.

  23. on June 16, 2008 at 9:25 pm Cathy M

Love all the pictures. It is so great to see smiling faces of favorite authors. My son graduated college last month and is home for the summer to regroup, so there will be a lot of family get togethers and I am sure some great conversations about goals and future possibilities. No big vacations planned so far.

  24. on June 16, 2008 at 9:39 pm Janice Maynard

I have a plan! Next year I am going to write a sci fi book about how to shrink people, and then I’ll pack each of you in my suitcase so you won’t miss all the fun! This was the fourth get-together, and it gets better every year.

Some of the people who posted today are wonderful friends I met at the very first one. We all bonded and look forward to seeing each other again every year.

With gas the way it is, soon my sci fi option may be the only way to travel. 😦

But at least we can share pictures!

LuAnn – Have fun at the beach!!

    Janice 🙂

Great pix Janice! You had some I haven’t seen – and there’s been lots of pix posted online at various places! It was great to chat with you again – I just wish there had been more time.

We don’t have any big plans this summer – just spending time at the lake.

  26. on June 16, 2008 at 9:55 pm Kaleen

Great pictures, Janice. I had such a great time again this year. This is the 3rd year in a row that I’ve had breakfast with you on Sunday. It’s become a tradition:-) I enjoyed seeing everyone again and meeting some new people at the event. I hope you had a great time on your trip and you got to write what you wanted to. I don’t have any plans to go anywhere for the summer. I’m doing a garden this year so I’ll be here weeding, weeding and weeding some more. We have a pool, so I’ll be able to grab a book, a float and read while I cool off. (G)

Great pics and post. Seems like you had a real good time. The only summer plans I have are visiting relatives and going to Branson. God willing if nothing happens. Hope everyone had a great Father’s Day weekend.
