We’ve all got keepers. Movies, books, music.
Lately, I’ve been in the mood to revisit some faves-I’ve been re-reading some of my Sherrilyn Kenyon books, and not too long ago, I did the same with the Darkyn books by Lynn Viehl. I’m also on a Buffy kick-stayed up until 2 am the other day watching the last part of season 5.
I don’t have a lot of ‘keeper’ TV shows, but Buffy is one of them. Law and Order: SVU is another. The old showtime series, Robin of Sherwood. I already know the new Joss Whedon series, Dollhouse, is going to be a keeper.
Now I love House, Charmed and a few others, but I haven’t ever gotten to the point that I have to own them so I can watch them any time. So they are loved, but not keepers.
Some keeper movies, Independence Day. The Green Mile. The LOTR trilogy. The Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.
And then there’s my keeper shelf of books. Which isn’t just a shelf now. It’s an entire bookcase and it’s got double rows, one in front, another in the back and some of those are even double stacked now. I have a lot more keeper books than movies or TV shows. Of course, some of my fave authors (cough, cough Nora/JD cough, cough) writes almost as fast as a bunny reproduces-or so it seems. So the Nora books take up a lot of space. My SL Viehl/Lynn Viehl/Jessica Hall/Gena Hale books take up a lot of space. My Mercedes Lackey books.
The list goes on…and on…and I plan on just adding more and more. I love keepers. 🙂 Who do you have on your keeper shelf?
I so know how you feel. I have books, movies and music that I just can’t give away–no matter how much my girls plead me too.
My ultimate go to movies–Finding Neverland–Johnny Depp is hot no matter what he does, The Waking of Ned Divine–I laughed so hard I wet my pants, seriously.
I’m with you on Buffy, too. If there is a marathon going on of Buffy I’ll watch it. I’m also hooked on L&O SVU–my girls love the show too. But my must have is –TNT’s The Closer–I was a total geek and bought the dvds. Okay so, sue me.
Let’s not get me started on authors, right now my bedroom looks like Mt Everest that eventually I’ll climb. Every time I think I’m getting out I feel them pulling me back in…lol I don’t mind.
I’m awful in that I keep just about every book I buy. They are in shelves in my bedroom, in the family room, my home office is lined with shelves and they are double thick on those walls, they are catalogued in storage bins in the garage, under my bed and I’ve even started a bookshelf at the lake cabin.
It has really helped being able to buy the books in ebook form!
My keepers on Movies …All Godfather, Scarface, All Die hards, then comedies…Money Pit, Up without a Paddle, all Cheech & chongs, Someting about Mary, A fish called Wanda…many more …just tried to give you some old and new…I also have a collection of Sci-fi..(anything Josh Whedon) , star trek, harry potter, narnia, etc..and one of my favorite movies which is a combination of all these is “Army of Darkness” it is a laugh out loud movie ..if you haven’t seen it go rent it…
Btw…I keep all the books I read…
